This class discusses both predatory lending issues that are active today and introduces students to the world of debt collections with helpful tips to avoid collections, what to do if you have an account sent to collections and how to resolve the account with the debt collector. This 1 hour course is part of HomeWord ’s 9 hour Financial Skill Building Class that is provided 1 time per month free to all participants.
Paul Heihn is the President and owner of Northwest Collectors in Missoula. He has owned the company for 13 years. He is a two-time past president of the Montana Collectors Association. He has achieved the designations of Scholar, Credit and Collections Compliance Officer, and Professional Collections Specialist through ACA International, The Association of Credit and Collections Professionals.
Financial Educator, Katie Sadowski – Katie started working for Homeword in July of 2016. She is responsible for facilitating and instructing our monthly Financial Fitness Class and Rent Wise Workshops. Katie also provides one-on-one financial fitness, renter and eviction prevention counseling. She is HUD-certified housing and financial counselor.
